중2능김 8-1::Who Is Happy? Once upon a time, there was a crow who lived in a forest. The crow was very happy with his life. He always looked at himself in the water. He thought no one was more beautiful than he was.::누가 행복한가? 옛날 옛적에 숲에 사는 까마귀 한 마리가 있었다. 그 까마귀는 그의 삶에 매우 행복했다. 그는 항상 자신의 모습을 물에 비춰보았다. 그는 자신보다 더 아름다운 새는 없다고 생각했다. 
중2능김 8-2::Then one day, the crow saw a swan on the lake. "The swan is so white," he thought, "but I am so black. I have never seen such a white bird before. His beauty shines so brightly. The swan must be the happiest bird in the world." He went to the swan and expressed his thoughts. "Actually," the swan said, "I thought that I was the happiest bird. But then I saw a parrot. Now I think the parrot is the happiest bird in the world." The crow asked why he thought so. The swan answered, "The parrot has colorful feathers. He is more beautiful than I am. He must be proud of his appearance."::그러던 어느 날 까마귀는 호수에서 백조를 보았다. "백조는 정말 하얗구나," 그는 생각했다, "그런데 나는 너무 까매. 나는 저렇게 하얀 새를 전에 본 적이 없어. 그의 아름다움은 정말 환하게 빛나는구나. 백조가 세상에서 가장 행복한 새인 것이 틀림없어." 그는 백조에게 가서 그의 생각을 표현했다. "사실은," 백조가 대답했다, "나는 내가 가장 행복한 새라고 생각했어. 하지만 곧 앵무새를 보았지. 이제 난 앵무새가 세상에서 가장 행복한 새라고 생각해." 까마귀는 그가 왜 그렇게 생각하는지 물었다. 백조는 대답했다, "앵무새는 형형색색의 깃털을 가졌거든. 그는 나보다 더 아름다워. 그는 틀림없이 자신의 외모를 자랑스러워할 거야." 
중2능김 8-3::The crow then flew to the parrot and said, "The swan said you are the happiest bird because you have colorful feathers." The parrot explained, "I lived a very happy life until I saw a peacock. My feathers are colorful, but the peacock's feathers are colorful, big, and gorgeous. So he is loved by everyone."::까마귀는 그 다음에 앵무새에게 날아가서 말했다, "백조가 말하기를 당신이 형형색색의 깃털을 가졌기 때문에 가장 행복한 새래요." 앵무새는 설명했다, "나는 공작새를 보기 전까지는 매우 행복한 삶을 살았어. 내 깃털은 색이 다채롭지만, 공작새의 깃털은 색이 다채로운 데다 크고 화려하기까지 하거든. 그래서 그는 모든 사람에게 사랑받지." 
중2능김 8-4::The crow then visited the peacock at the zoo. There were a lot of people around the peacock, and they praised him for his beauty. The crow thought the peacock must be the happiest bird in the world. After all the people left, the crow started to talk to the peacock. "Peacock, you are so beautiful. Many people come to see you every day. On the other hand, when people see me, they chase me away. I think you are the happiest bird in the world." The peacock said, "I may be the most beautiful bird, but I'm not happy. Because of my beauty, I am stuck in this zoo. Unlike me, you aren't kept in a cage. I want to be like you because you can go anywhere."::까마귀는 그래서 동물원의 공작새에게 갔다. 공작새 주변에는 많은 사람이 있었고, 그들은 그의 아름다움을 칭송했다. 까마귀는 공작새가 세상에서 가장 행복한 새가 틀림없다고 생각했다. 모든 사람이 떠난 후, 까마귀는 공작새에게 말을 걸기 시작했다. "공작새님, 당신은 참 아름다워요. 매일 많은 사람이 당신을 보러 와요. 반면에 사람들은 저를 보면, 저를 쫓아내요. 나는 당신이 세상에서 가장 행복한 새라고 생각해요." 공작새는 말했다, "내가 가장 아름다운 새일지는 모르지만 나는 행복하지 않아." 나의 아름다움 때문에 내가 이 동물원에 갇혀 있거든. 나와 달리 너는 우리에 갇혀 있지 않잖아. 너는 어디든 갈 수 있으니 나는 너처럼 되고 싶어." 
중2능김 8-5::After the crow talked to the peacock, he started to think about who the happiest bird was. The crow thought to himself, "The peacock's feathers are impressive, but he is stuck in a cage. I don't have colorful feathers, but I'm free to fly anywhere." The crow went back to the forest. He looked at himself in the water again and saw the happiest bird in the world.::까마귀는 공작새와 대화한 후에, 누가 가장 행복한 새인지 생각하기 시작했다. 까마귀는 조용히 생각했다, "공작새의 깃털은 인상적이지만 그는 우리에 갇혀 있어. 나는 형형색색의 깃털은 없지만, 어디든 자유롭게 날아갈 수 있어." 까마귀는 숲으로 돌아갔다. 그는 물에 비친 자신을 다시 보았고 세상에서 가장 행복한 새를 보았다.
