사과 2개가 있습니다. 이 녀석들을 하나씩 표현하고 싶은데, 어떻게 해야 할까요?

이럴 때 사용하는 것은 one / the other입니다. 하나는 one, 다른 하나는 the other입니다.

I ate one apple.

Then I ate the other one

=Then I ate the other apple

=Then I ate the other

정확히 몇 개인지 정확하게 알 수 없는 사과들이 있습니다.

이것들을 하나씩 하나씩 표현하고 싶은데, 어떻게 하면 될까요?

이럴 경우 사용하는 것이 one / another입니다.

하나는 one, 다른 각각의 하나는 another입니다.

I ate one apple.

Then I ate another one.

=Then I ate another apple.

=Then I ate another.

사과의 개수가 몇 개 인지 구체적으로 알 수 있는 경우를 어떻게 표현할까요?

5개가 있다고 가정한다면,

하나는 one, 나머지 4개는 the others입니다.

I am holding one apple

I'm going to hold the other apples

=I'm going to hold the other ones

=I'm going to hold the others

정확히 몇 개인지  알 수 없는 사과가 있다고 가정해 봅시다.

하나는 one, 몇 개인지 모르는 나머지 사과들은 others입니다.

I am holding one apple.

There are other apples on a plate.

=There are other ones on a plate.
